Message	1) Contaminants 2) Drop in VI Oil Analysis PDF Over my successive UOA results, I found a definite VI improvement with the M1 0W40 over the M1 10W30. With the lab I'm using, they have a VI index with the reference sample of the same oil you are testing. In these results, the latest reference sample was M1 OW40 European Formula. Each previous result was ranked against the same reference oil as the sample... the older results were ranked against the M1 10W30 sample, I believe the VI for that ref. was in the 12ish range, the 10W30 samples dropped to almost falling out of the weigh rating! You should ask Blackstone if this is something they offer with their service. WARNING!  Forum posts are likely to contain traces of irony.
